Effectively managing your sequence steps in Distrobird is key to keeping your communication on point. In this guide, we'll show you how to edit, delete, and clone sequence steps with ease.
Editing a Sequence Step
Follow these steps to edit an existing sequence:
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Campaign dropdown and select Sequences.
- Select the sequence on the Sequences page containing the step you want to edit.
- On the selected Sequence’s page, navigate to the step you want to edit. Hover over the sequence step and click the edit icon (usually represented by a pencil icon). This will open the sequence step slideout where you can reconfigure or modify the sequence step.
- After making the necessary changes, click the Save button to save your changes. Your changes will go into effect immediately for all active and future recipients.
Deleting a Sequence Step
Deleting a sequence step is permanent. Ensure that you no longer need the sequence step before confirming deletion. To delete a sequence step, follow these steps:
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Campaign dropdown and select Sequences.
- On the Sequences page, select the sequence that contains the step you want to delete.
- On the selected Sequence’s page, navigate to the step you want to delete. Hover over the sequence step and click the delete icon (usually represented by a trash can icon). A confirmation prompt will appear.
- Confirm that you want to delete the sequence step. Note that this action is irreversible, and the sequence step will be permanently removed. All contacts in that step will be moved to the next step, and they will no longer receive any actions from the deleted step.
Cloning a Sequence Step
This step will be cloned and added as the last step in the sequence. You can edit the clone or move it to a different step and enable it after.
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Campaign dropdown and select Sequences.
- On the Sequences page, select the sequence that contains the step you want to clone.
- On the selected Sequence's page, navigate to the step you want to clone. Hover over the sequence step and click the clone icon (usually represented by the copy icon). This will open the cloned sequence in create mode, allowing you to modify details such as the sequence name, assigned members, exit delay, and audience.
