What Are Licenses and How Are They Used in Distrobird?
Licenses in Distrobird are permissions that allow users to access and utilize specific products and services offered by the platform. Each license corresponds to a particular product and tier, determining the scope and features available to the user. Licenses can be assigned to team members within an organization to grant them access to the products/features they need for their roles.
How to Buy a License
Step 1: Access Billing Page
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Settings dropdown.
- Under the General dropdown select Billing to access your billing page which includes General, Plans, Licenses, Invoices, Usage, Requests, and Metered fees tabs.
Step 2: Go to Licenses Tab
- From your Billing page, select the Licenses tab. This tab lists all of Distrobird's products and their various tiers. It shows which products were purchased, how many licenses your organization has, and how many of those licenses have been assigned.
Step 3: Select Product
- Scroll through the list of products and locate the specific product for which you wish to purchase licenses.
- Click on Manage Licenses in the row corresponding to that product. This will redirect you to the product's page.
Step 4: Buy Licenses
- On the product's page, click Buy Licenses at the top left corner of your screen.
- Next, complete the Buy license form.
- Billing Frequency- Select how often you wish to be billed for the licenses. Note that some products may only offer a monthly or annual subscription option.
- Number of seats- Select the number of license seats you wish to purchase. Note that some products may have a minimum order quantity.
- Add card- Enter your card details, or use a card already saved on your dashboard by selecting Use existing card and choosing the card from the dropdown.
- Coupon Code- Enter any applicable coupon code here
- Bill Summary- Review the total amount your organization will be charged, including taxes and fees.
- Review your purchase and click Buy.
Once payment is complete, the licenses will be provisioned on your organization's dashboard and you can now assign them to your team members. Keep in mind that we charge for licenses as they're purchased, even if they're inactive and unassigned.
How to Assign a License
Step 1: Access the Licenses Tab
1. Go to your Billing page and select the Licenses Tab.
Step 2: Manage Licenses for a Specific Product
1. Scroll through the list of products and locate the product for which you want to assign licenses.
2. Click on Manage Licenses in the row corresponding to that product. This will redirect you to the product's page.
Step 3: Assign Licenses to Team Members
1. On the product's page, click Assign at the top left corner of your screen. This will open the Assign license to members modal.
2. In the modal, click on the dropdown menu and select the members you want to assign the license to and click Assign to complete the process.
