Distobird's shared inbox combines multiple channels (email, SMS, and Distrobird chat) in one place for smarter and more seamless team collaboration.
Follow the steps below to connect a shared inbox to a team:
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Settings dropdown, then select the User dropdown. From the User dropdown, select Teams to navigate to your Teams page.
- Next, select a team to connect an inbox to.
- On the selected Team's page, click on the Messaging channel tab, scroll to the Email Inboxes section, and click Add email inbox.
- Next, select your email provider from the email channel menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection for the selected channel type.
To connect an inbox to a team member:
- On the side navigation menu, click on the Settings dropdown, then select the User dropdown. From the User dropdown, select Teams.
- On your Teams page, click on the Members tab.
- Next, select a team member to connect an inbox to. This will open the team member's Profile Settings page with Messaging channel, Call settings, Office hours, and Phone numbers tabs.
- Navigate to the Messaging channel tab, and click Add Channel.
- Next, select your email provider from the email channel menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection for the selected channel type.
Once the email inbox has been successfully connected, you and your teammates should now see the new shared inbox listed in the sidebar on your Inbox page. Distrobird will automatically import emails from the last 24 months and every contact from the connected inbox.
