Do-Not-Contact & Block List

Use the Do-Not-Contact (DNC) list to manage customers or prospects who do not wish to be contacted by your organization. Once a contact is added to the DNC list, Distrobird automatically blocks any outreach from your organization to the DNC’d channel, including outbound campaigns. For example, adding a phone number of a lead to the DNC list will prevent subsequent phone calls to that lead, however, emails sent to the lead will still be delivered. To completely prevent a contact from receiving any communication from your team, be sure to add all the contact’s channels(email addresses and/or phone numbers) to the DNC list.

 

You can also add an email domain to the DNC list to prevent your team members from contacting any address with the specified domain. This is particularly useful for preventing outgoing campaigns to existing customers or competitors.

 

Here’s a quick step-by-step guide for adding contacts to the DNC list:

 

1. From the Settings page, under Your Data section, select DNC List
2. Next, click on Add to DNC at the top right corner of the page. This will open the Add to DNC List modal. 
3. In the search field, search for contacts by name, email or phone number
4. Click Add to DNC List to add the selected contacts to your DNC list.

To add a domain to the DNC list follow these easy steps:

1. On your DNC List index page, select the Domains tab
2. Next, click on Block domain at the top right corner of the page. This will open the Add to Domains DNC modal. 
3. In the search field, search for the domains you would like to add to the domains DNC.
4. Click Add to domains DNC to add the selected domains to your domains DNC list.

Block list

Adding a contact to the block lists prevents the added contact from contacting your team. This is particularly useful for abusive contacts or spam blocking. Please keep in mind that adding a contact to a blocklist does not prevent your team from sending outbound messages or calling said contacts; rather, it prevents the contact from contacting your organization.

 

Here’s how to add contacts to your blocklist:

 

1. On your DNC List index page, select the Block list tab
2. Next, click on Add to block list at the top right corner of the page. This will open the Add to Block list modal.
